Puntland is accused of fueling clan clashes in Mudug

Traditional elders have accused the Semi-autonomous regional state of Puntland of fueling the clan clashes in villages near the border of Galmudug and Puntland.

Somali clan militias on Saturday clashed with another militias. The clash claimed lives of over 3 people and injured other others, according elders who spoke to Goobjoog news.

Elder, Mohamed Yasin Gaani said paternalists who crossed into Galmudug controlled areas from Puntland have killed people in Mudug region.

Since the collapse of the Central government in 1991, Water, pasture and politics have been at the centre of sporadic clashes between Somali tribes across the country.
