Security forces seize more weapons in Hodan district

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: As part of the ongoing operation against the Al-Shabaab militants and illegal arms in Somalia, security forces have seized another consignment of weapons at Tarabuun in Hodan district of Mogadishu.

The operation came hours after a similar seizure in Owl Share and Bakra Market where security forces also recovered several illegal arms and vehicles that were being used by suspected Al-Shabaab sympathizers, who were taken into custody.

The weapons consisted of several bullets, military uniforms and explosives which were believed to have been intended for use by the militants to attack civilians, security forces and government officials and infrastructure.

According to a soruce familiar with the operation, the weapons were found hidden in a house within Tarabuun area and two suspects were arrested while two others escaped.
