Somali National Intelligence Agency backed by AU Troops arrest Al Shabaab Elements
A joint cordon and search operation by the Somali National Intelligence Agency backed by African Union troops and Police in Hodan District, Mogadishu has seen sophisticated military equipment captured and suspected Al Shabaab elements arrested.
The operation also saw the troops raid the residence of an Al Shabaab prime operative identified as Abduladif Osman Mohamed, where a cache of weaponry was found.
The weaponry captured includes an assortment of guns including RPG shells, AK47s, a PK barrel and several rounds of ammunition, one vehicle, mobile phones, solar panel, key documents, a pile of Somali currency and 5 operatives of Al Shabaab.
AMISOM troops together with their Somali counterparts will continue with tactical operations to ensure that Mogadishu and other areas are free of these terrorists.
