Somalia, Ethiopia ink new bilateral trade deals

GOOBJOOG NEWS | ADDIS ABABA: Somalia and Ethiopia have agreed to enhance bilateral trade relations to boost economies of both countries.

The agreement was reached during a meeting between the Federal Government of Somalia’s Ambassador to Ethiopia Abdullahi Warfa and Ethiopia’s State Minister for trade Kassahum Gofe Balami in Addis Ababa Tuesday.

During the meeting, the two leaders vowed to strengthen collaborations in strengthening the fight against illegal trade which they noted was negatively impacting the economies if the two states.

Ambassador Warfa also met with the Arab League Ambassador to the African Union and UNECA, Dr. Walid Hamed Shiltagh, with whom they discussed economic cooperation and good governance.

Amb. Walid assured Mr. Warfa that the Arab League will support Somalia in its bid to secure a sit at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
