Federal Government Takes Custody of 25 Inmates in Landmark Justice Reform Move

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia’s Federal Government has taken custody of 25 inmates from the SSC-Khaatumo Administration in a move hailed as a breakthrough in justice sector cooperation between regional and central authorities.
The detainees, described as having “special circumstances,” were formally handed over to Federal Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hassan Macallin Mahmoud, in a transfer aimed at unifying legal standards and improving detention conditions nationwide.
“This handover is a reflection of our shared commitment to justice and the protection of human rights,” said Minister Mahmoud, thanking SSC-Khaatumo officials for their collaboration.
The transfer is part of Somalia’s wider push to reform its justice system, ensuring that legal procedures and detainee rights are upheld uniformly across all regions.
