Somaliland: House of representative approves the electoral commission

Somaliland house representative has on Saturday approved the electoral commission consisting of seven members in an extra-ordinary meeting in Hargeysa.

The parliament session was attended  by 70 MPs, at least 69 MPs voted in favour of the members.

Somaliland president Ahmed Mohamud Silaanyo has nominated three members including,

1.Mohamed Jama’a Mohamed

2. Mohamud Jama’a Wa’es

3.Kaltoum Sheikh Hassan Abdi

Two members were nominated by the house of elders,

1.Said Ali Muse

2.Abdikadir Iiman warsame

The opposition parties UCID  and Wadani  nominated the remaining two members Abdifatah Ibrahim Hassan and Abdirahman Osman  Adan respectively.
