Three injured in grisly road accident outside Mogadishu
Three people were injured in a Friday afternoon head on crash involving a car and a bus on Mogadishu-Afgooye road near Garsbaaly located in the outskirt of Somali capital, Mogadishu.
The three were travelling in the car heading towards Mogadishu when the accident occurred at 4 pm, according to witnesses.
Confirming the accident, a local administrator in Garasbaalay locality said that the car was attempting to overtake when it rammed into the minibus head on.
The injured were rushed to one of the hospitals in Mogadishu.
The mangled wreckages of the cars involved remained at the scene for some time as police recorded details of the crash.
The real cause of the accident is not yet clear, while authority’s investigations are still going on. Road accidents are common in Somalia, where highways lack safety features like guard rails or reflective paint.
In Somalia, most car accident often causes deaths and injuries in which are attributed to the drivers who do not have enough experiences in driving as well as unworthy roads in some regions.
